Equalution Launches Customised Pocket Nutrition App

‘How is this possible?’ you might ask…

Experts in science-based customised nutrition, Jade and Amal, believe in an 80/20 rule. This includes a balanced diet of nutrient-dense food while still enjoying soul foods. The Equalution team have collaborated with Devika to make this service digitally accessible.

The Evolution of the Equalution and Devika Collaboration

After experiencing previous technological difficulties, Equalution reached out to Devika for technical advisory and support. Guided by Equalution’s design and style experts, two of our in-house developers, Byron and Kim, built the website with e-commerce functionality.

Equalution successfully launched their website November 2018.

This quickly progressed into the next build – to create a personalised mobile application that includes customised meal plans.

Developing The Pocket Nutrition App

The pocket nutrition app hit the market in July 2019 and since then has been used by thousands of people daily to track and manage their meal intake and goals.

The app was developed using React Native for front-end development which was led by software developer, Byron. The back-end development was led by Kim who applied Java Spring Boot. Kim also built out the internal CRM portal for Equalution. Since the launch, more of our in-house development team have jumped on board to continuously update and manage the app alongside Equalution.
