Devika Design Branding Process: A Case Study for Wavie
In the digital realm, a brand’s identity is critical for creating a lasting first impression and building a strong emotional connection with its target audience. At Devika, we understand the impact a well-crafted branding package can have on a product’s launch, and that’s why we recently acquired Design agency Black Bear Creative, now Devika Design.
In this article, we review the branding design process for our client, Wavie.
“The whole team were great from start to finish. They walked us through the whole process and really helped us understand our brand better than we ever thought we knew.” – Andy Dunn, Founder, Wavie
Our Branding Design Process
Brand Strategy/Consultation:
Before diving into the visual aspects of branding, Devika Design starts by understanding the core values and objectives of the client’s business. This involves extensive consultations and research to grasp the essence of the brand. By aligning with the client’s vision, we ensure that every aspect of the branding package reflects the true identity of the business.
Style Boards:
Once the brand’s values and direction are clear, Devika Design creates style boards that serve as visual roadmaps for the project. These boards encapsulate various elements such as color schemes, typography, imagery, and overall aesthetic. By presenting multiple style options, Devika Design allows clients to visualize different directions for their brand identity.

Feedback:
Feedback is crucial in the design process, and Devika Design values client input at every stage. After presenting style boards, clients are encouraged to provide feedback on colors, fonts, and imagery. This collaborative approach will go through a few iterations, and ensures that the final branding aligns with all stakeholders and designers while maintaining design integrity.
Logo Concepts:
With a clear understanding of the brand’s identity and client feedback in mind, Devika Design proceeds to create logo concepts. These concepts explore different design elements, including black and white versions, varying forms, and color palettes. Each concept is carefully crafted to resonate with the brand’s values and target audience.

Presentation to Client & Refinement:
Once logo concepts are developed, Devika Design presents them to the client for review. This presentation allows for further discussion and refinement based on client feedback. Whether it’s tweaking colors, adjusting typography, or fine-tuning shapes, Devika Design ensures that every detail aligns with the client’s vision.
Build Style Guide:
After finalizing the logo design, Devika Design proceeds to build brand assets and create a comprehensive style guide. This guide serves as a reference for consistent brand representation across various platforms. It includes specifications for logo usage, color codes, typography guidelines, and other visual elements, empowering the client to maintain a cohesive brand identity in all their communications. Below is one of the pages from this guide, covering colors.
Build Other Assets
Beyond the logo and style guide, we created social media templates for a consistent online presence. Additionally, print items like letterheads and business cards were created, ensuring a cohesive brand image across digital and physical platforms. These assets, tailored to the client’s needs, reinforce the brand’s message and values. With attention to detail and quality, Devika Design equips clients with the tools for a memorable brand identity.
In conclusion, creating a branding package is more than just designing a logo; it’s about crafting a visual identity that reflects the essence of a business. Devika Design’s process embodies this philosophy, blending strategic thinking with creative expression to deliver branding solutions that resonate with clients and their audiences alike.
