Devika and Dell EduTECH Collaboration

Devika partners with Dell at EduTECH to showcase Devika Kolb, a VR experience supporting experiential learning in education.

Devika and Dell EduTECH Collaboration

We partnered with Dell at the EduTECH Australia Conference to showcase Devika Kolb, a virtual reality (VR) experience that supports experiential learning in the classroom. Dell and our team at Devika co-hosted a booth to present the first scenario of Kolb called the Antarctica Experience. It transports users to Antarctica via the Dell Mixed Reality Visor.

Event attendants tried the Kolb Antarctica Experience, using the Dell Visor, which gave them insight into life as a scientist living in Antarctica. Virtual guides provide informative descriptions about the local wildlife and geography and assist users in conducting surveys and experiments.

What is EduTECH?

EduTECH is an annual event where the education and training sector gather to learn, debate, exchange ideas, and be inspired by thought leaders in the education sector. It’s the only event in the country that brings together individuals from schools, tertiary education, VET, and workplace learning. This was one of the reasons why it was so exciting to bring Kolb to the event.

Devika’s Collaboration with Dell

If you have read our other blogs, you may have noticed our affinity for the Dell Visor when it comes to presenting mixed reality. In saying that, you can probably imagine our eagerness when the opportunity to use this hardware for EduTECH Australia arose.

It was an incredible privilege to partner with Dell, and it’s exciting to see virtual reality enter the education system in Australia. We have great respect for Dell as we see them using their technology and resources to support experiential learning in education. With the support of partners like Dell, we are looking forward to providing more students with the Kolb Antarctica Experience.

We have recently been accepted by the Department of Education, meaning that we can continue to partner with established companies like Dell and be involved in educational events like EduTECH in the future.
